The trifecta of Jessica Williams, Chris O’Dowd, and Noël Wells have signed on to star in an upcoming UNTITLED JAMES STROUSE COMEDY. James C. Strouse will be directing and writing the indie romantic comedy.
In New York, lead character Jessica is an aspiring playwright who’s working on getting over a recent break-up when she meets Boone, who’s in the midst of a similar situation. They wind up becoming friends as they go through this difficult time together, ultimately realizing they like each other a lot more than they initially thought.
The film is in development at Beachside Films, with Michael Clark and Alex Turtletaub producing. Filming is expected to start this fall.
Strouse is the director and writer behind movies like People, Places & Things (which Williams also appeared in) and The Winning Season. He also wrote John Krasinski’s upcoming film, The Hollars.
Williams is best known for her role as a correspondent on The Daily Show, which she recently left to pursue her own untitled project at Comedy Central. O’Dowd first came onto the scene with his role in the series The IT Crowd, and has since been seen in films like St. Vincent and Calvary. Wells was part of the 2013-14 season of Saturday Night Live, and recently appeared on Netflix’s Master of None.
Strouse is repped by ICM and Thruline Entertainment.
Williams is repped by UTA and Mosaic.
O’Dowd is repped by WME, Gordon and French, and 3 Arts Entertainment.
Wells is repped by DPN Talent, ICM, and Kirsten Ames Management.
