Amazon Studios wasted no time in tapping Jill Soloway and Andrea Sperling as producers of the adaptation of THE NEST by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney. This comes shortly after Amazon acquired the novel which debuted at number three on the New York Times Bestseller list. D’Aprix Sweeney is also slated to adapt the novel.
D’Aprix Sweeney’s critically lauded debut novel follows the adult siblings of the Plumb family who have a pending shared inheritance they call The Nest, which has shaped their lives. Of the siblings, one of them is reckless, irresponsible, fresh out of rehab and is endangering the trust fund — but the other three have problems of their own. They are months away of getting access to the money that they think will solve all their problems.
Soloway is known for her success with the Golden Globe winning Amazon series Transparent. She is also producing another comedy for TV, The Skinny Her other credits include Six Feet Under, United States of Tara and This Is Me.
Sperling has collaborated with Soloway as the executive producer of Transparent and The Skinny. She has also worked on indie features such as Addicted to Fresno, Like Crazy and Smashed. She is currently working with Soloway on the comedy, I Love Dick.
