Joe Johnston is in talks to direct EXTINCTION for Good Universe and Mandeville Films. The story follows Peter, a man whose dreams about an alien invasion become a reality. He fights desperately to protect his family while on the run from the invading forces and along the way, he starts to question the reality of the world he’s living in, leading to a final reveal that flips the table on him and the audience.
Spenser Cohen wrote the script on spec. David Hoberman and Todd Lieberman will produce.
Johnston last directed “Captain America: The First Avenger” and his next project to appear will be “Not Safe for Work.”
He is repped by Resolution.
