Joel Kinnaman has been cast as Rick Flagg in Warner Bros.’ SUICIDE SQUAD, replacing Tom Hardy, who recently exited due to scheduling conflicts.
Flagg is the ringleader of D.C Comics’ group of supervillains, The Suicide Squad. Kinnaman joins an all star cast of Will Smith, Margot Robbie, Jared Leto, Jai Courtney and Cara Delevigne, who round out the group.
The film reportedly follows the villains as they work to pull off a major heist. David Ayers is set to direct this entry in the cannon of current D.C Comics adaptions, which started in 2013 with Man Of Steel.
Kinnaman has recently been seen as the star of the Netflix series The Killing, and is set to star opposite Liam Nesson in the thriller Run All Night.
