Star Wars: The Force Awakens star John Boyega is moving from one of the biggest franchises of all time to the small screen as he signs on to voice a character in Nickelodeon‘s new animated series. The project is the first original online series for the channel for the UK and Ireland and is entitled TINKERSHRIMP & DUTCH.
Boyega will provide the voice of Dutch alonside Sam Riley who has signed on to voice a miserable headless chicken. The series follows two best friends, a langoustine (Tinkershrimp) and a loris (Dutch), who are time-traveling bodyguards for an eccentric monarch.
Ralph, a London-based creative agency, is producing and will premiere across the network’s UK online platforms and on-demand service.
Boyega broke onto the scene a few years ago in the film Attack The Block before signing on to play Finn in the latest installment of Star Wars. He will next be seen in The Circle opposite Emma Watson and Tom Hanks based on the novel by Dave Eggers.
