John Carroll Lynch Joins Paul Giamatti in Netflix Drama “Private Life” (Exclusive)

Coming off a banner 2016 in which he co-starred in The Invitation, Jackie, The Founder and the box office hit Miracles from Heaven, consummate character actor has joined the cast of Tamara Jenkins’ drama , the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.

Paul Giamatti and Kathryn Hahn star as a couple struggling with infertility, which threatens to upset their marriage until their niece volunteers to donate her eggs.

Molly Shannon co-stars as the girl’s mother, while Lynch will play the girl’s supportive father and Shannon’s husband, who is also Giamatti’s brother.

Anthony Bregman (Foxcatcher) and Stefanie Azpiazu (Enough Said) are producing the film, which starts  very soon. It will be Jenkins’ first film since her 2007 comedy The Savages.

Lynch’s directorial debut Lucky, starring Harry Dean Stanton, just premiered at SXSW, where it earned strong reviews. He’ll soon be seen alongside Matt Bomer and Maura Tierney in the indie drama Anything and he has also wrapped the indie White Orchid with Jennifer Beals and Olivia Thirlby.
