COLDEST CITY continues add to its cast to the Charlize Theron-starring actioner, as John Goodman is now in talks for a role. The film follows Theron as a spy who springs into action after an underground MI6 officer is killed just before the fall of the Berlin Wall. She must find a list he was smuggling into the West to protect herself.
Goodman is in talks for a role of an American agent that works with Theron. James McAvoy signed on for a lead role in October.
The thriller is based on the bestselling graphic novel from Oni Press and written by Antony Johnston. Sierra/Affinity’s Nick Meyers is financing the project.
David Leitch will direct with a script from Kurt Johnstad. Leitch previously co-directed John Wick with Chad Stahelski. The pair were set to direct City together as well, when conflicts arose with John Wick 2 and the pair decided to separate and handle the films individually.
Goodman, a staple of the Oscar season, will next be seen in the buzzy Trumbo opposite Bryan Cranston.
He is repped by The Gersh Agency.
