With Oscar Isaac no longer attached to star in THE BALLAD OF PABLO ESCOBAR, word is that John Leguizamo is making a hard push for the titular role. The actor tweeted out that he had a solid screen test for the film, which chronicles the Colombian drug lord’s life.
Scott Steindorff is producing the film, which Brad Furman is directing from Matt Aldrich’s Black List script.
Leguizamo has lent his voice to the “Ice Age” pics as Sid the Sloth and has previously worked with Furman in “The Lincoln Lawyer.” He will next be seen in “Kick-Ass 2”, Ridley Scott’s “The Counselor” and “Ride Along”. He is repped by UTA.
