John Leguizamo is the latest in a long line of actors to join Redd Morano’s directorial debut MEADOWLAND. The thriller follows a mother whose son disappears. She finds herself on a dangerous path toward acceptance as she seeks out a relationship with a neglected boy and watches it take an unexpected turn. Leguizamo joins Olivia Wilde, Luke Wilson, Elisabeth Moss, Giovanni Ribisi, Juno Temple, and Mark Feuerstein. Nick Sandow and Merritt Wever are also joining the project.
Leguizamo has a large catalogue of projects to his name, including “Moulin Rouge,” “Ice Age,” and “Romeo + Juliet,” but isn’t very well known for his roles in thrillers, preferring comedies and dramas instead. Most recently, Leguizamo appeared in Jon Favreau’s “Chef” and Michael Almereyda’s drama “Cymbeline.” Among his upcoming projects, Leguizamo has been cast in action comedy “American Ultra” with Kristen Stewart and Jesse Eisenberg and will be reprising his voiceover role as Sid in “Ice Age 5.”
