David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are in early talks to co-direct the action comic adaptation COWBOY NINJA VIKING, starring Chris Pratt. Based on the graphic novel from writer A.J. Lieberman and artist Riley Rossmo, the centers around a man who suffers from multiple personality disorder and is put into a government program to be turned into a super-soldier with the attributes of a cowboy, a ninja and a viking.
Sources say that Pratt approved of Leitch and Stahelski and confirmed his involvement with the project. The film is being fast-tracked by Universal Pictures and was written by Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese.
Leitch and Stahelski served as Second Unit Directors and Stunt Coordinators on a multitude of studio films before directing their breakout hit, John Wick, which stars Keanu Reeves (Leitch was uncredited.) Up next, they’ll executive produce the mini-series Rain for television.
Leitch will also serve as the Second Unit Director on Jurassic World and will direct the comedy Dan Mintner: Badass for Hire.
Both Leitch and Stahelski are repped by WME and Kelly McCormick.
