Jon Bernthal, Catalina Sandino Moreno, Oscar Jaenada, and Mehdi Dehbi have all joined the cast of THE GODMOTHER. Catherine Zeta-Jones stars as Griselda Blanco, the first and only woman in history to head a major Colombian drug network. Eva Sorhaug is directing from a script penned by Frank Baldwin.
Bernthal is probably best known for two of his most recent roles – on AMC’s zombie drama The Walking Dead and in Martin Scorsese’s The Wolf of Wall Street. Even more recently, Bernthal starred in the Frank Darabont’s TNT series Mob City and recently starred alongside Brad Pitt and Shia LaBeouf in David Ayer’s war drama Fury. Next up, Bernthal is set to appear in Max Joseph’s drama We Are Your Friends and Denis Villeneuve’s crime drama Sicario.
Moreno is known in the states for playing Demian Bichir’s wife on the Alma on the recently cancelled FX crime drama The Bridge. She has also appeared on the big screen in Maria Full of Grace, Fast Food Nation, and Che: Parts One and Two. Moreno currently plays Eva on Fox’s Red Band Society and has been cast in J.C. Chandor’s A Most Violent Year.
Jaenada’s most recognizable role is the lead in this year’s drama Cantinflas but he has also had roles in Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and Che: Part Two. Next up, Jaenada will appear in Hands of Stone alongside Robert DeNiro and Ellen Barkin, as well as the drama The Librarian with Marcia Gay Harden.
Dehbi’s past credits include roles in Philip Seymour Hoffman’s final film A Most Wanted Man and the FX series Tyrant, where he plays Abdul.
Bernthal is repped by WME and Burstein Company. Moreno is repped by UTA and Lasher Group. Jaenada is repped by Paradigm, Media Art Management, and Authentic Talent and Literary Management. Dehbi is repped by Gersh and Agence Adequat.
