Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Ron Perlman, and Joey King have joined the growing cast of STONEWALL. The period drama centers on a young man’s political awakening over the backdrop of the Stonewall riots. After being kicked out on the streets, Danny is introduced to the LGBT community of the Mafia-run Stonewall Inn. Meyers plays a man Danny meets at the Stonewall while Perlman plays the manager of the hotel. Jeremy Irvine stars in the project which also includes Jonny Beauchamp and Caleb Landry Jones.
Meyers is best known for his TV roles in the HBO period drama “The Tudors” and the recently cancelled NBC horror “Dracula.” He has also appeared in rom-com “Bend It Like Beckham,” Woody Allen’s “Match Point,” and “Mission: Impossible III.” His upcoming projects include two films with “Game of Thrones” star Lena Headey: “The Mortal Instruments” and “London Town,” about a young boy whose life is forever changed after he’s introduced to British band The Clash.
Perlman is known for playing the lead role in the “Hellboy” franchise as well as for playing Clay Morrow in the FX biker drama “Sons of Anarchy.” He also appeared with his “Sons of Anarchy” co-star Charlie Hunnam for “Pacific Rim.” Perlman will next appear in crime/thriller “Poker Night” with Giancarlo Esposito, animated feature “Book of Life” and comedy “Moonwalkers” with “Harry Potter” alum Rupert Grint.
King has stolen the show in films like “Crazy, Stupid, Love” and Roland Emmerich’s “White House Down.” She currently appears in the rebooted FX series “Fargo” as Greta Grimly. Her next projects include James Franco’s drama “The Sound and the Fury” and is rumored to be attached to Matthew Modine’s musical “The Rocking Horsemen.”
