Jonathan Tropper has signed on to pen THE PRIORITY LIST for Warner Bros. The drama, starring Steve Carell, centers on a Miami high school teacher with brain cancer who managed to extend his life via several surgeries and years of chemo. Then in 2012, he decided to embark on a cross-country journey to reconnect with former students from his 15-year teaching career, come to terms with his illness and learn to live fully in the present. David Frankel is in talks to direct, while Carell will also produce under his Carousel Productions banner.
Tropper co-created the Cinemax series “Banshee” with David Schickler and wrote the book and screenplay for Shawn Levy’s “This Is Where I Leave You” starring Jason Bateman, Tina Fey, and Adam Driver. His upcoming projects include the screenplays for Peter Segal’s “Harvey,” Shawn Levy’s untitled Kodachrome project, and “One Last Thing Before I Go,” which is rumored to be starring Johnny Depp and Elle Fanning.
Tropper is repped by UTA.
