Joseph Fiennes is set to star in and produce NOSTRADAMUS, a series from Carnival Films and Anonymous Content. Set against the backdrop of the world of the French Royal Court, the drama series follows the seer as he seeks revenge for the murder of his family. After beginning to have disturbing visions, Nostradamus becomes embroiled in the world of the occult as well as the social and political life of the era. Fiennes will produce the project along with Carnival (known for producing “Downton Abbey”), Anonymous (the producers of “True Detective”) and Universal Cable Productions.
Fiennes is known for his roles in period dramas like “Shakespeare in Love” and “Elizabeth,” but lately has been turning toward roles in action films like the upcoming “Hercules” and horror projects like “American Horror Story.” Next up, Fiennes is set to star in “Strangerland” opposite Nicole Kidman and Hugo Weaving.
