Josh Boone Wants To Take A “Stand” For Warner Bros.

is in talks to rewrite and direct for Warner Bros. Pictures. Based on the book by Stephen King, the project is set in a future where the world’s population is virtually wiped out by a deadly flu virus. The handful of survivors are drawn into two camps — one representing goodness and purity; the other, evil.

Ben Affleck, Scott Cooper and Paul Greengrass were all previously in talks to direct. Roy Lee will produce through Vertigo Entertainment.

Boone last directed “Stuck in Love.” His next project “The Fault in Our Stars” will premiere this year.
