Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage will pen the new draft and produce the MONSTER HIGH project for Universal Pictures and Mattel. Set at “frighteningly fashionable” Monster High, the story will revolve around the children of famous monsters including Dracula, Frankenstein and the Wolfman undergoing the trials and tribulations of high school. It’s based on the toy line, that’s also spawned several TV specials, books and more.
Schwartz and Savage are replacing previous writers (when it was first brought to Universal in 2010) Alfred Gough and Miles Millar (“I Am Number Four”). Producing will be Schwartz, Savage, Neil Meron and Craig Zadan.
Schwartz and Savage last produced 2012’s “Fun Size” and they currently produce “Hart of Dixie.” Their new project “Endless Love” is in post-production.
They are repped by WME.
