Julia Roberts Set To Star In And Produce Harlan Coben Thriller “Fool Me Once”

has signed on to star in and produce the big-screen adaptation of ’s thriller FOOL ME ONCE.

Roberts will star as Maya, a Special Ops pilot who has just arrived home from war only to find footage of her two-year-old daughter playing with her husband, which comes as a huge and frightening surprise considering her husband was brutally murdered two weeks before. This leads to a thrilling mystery for her and makes her second guess everything she sees with her own eyes.

The Pretty Woman actress will produce the project alongside and under her Red Om banner.

Coben’s Fool Me Once was released this week, and adds to a list of his that are currently in . Universal is set to adapt his crime novel Tell No One (which was previously adapted into a French film by Guillaume Canet) with Liam Neeson attached and Brett Ratner is currently attached to produce an adaptation of Missing You. Young & Hungry Alum Jonathan Stokes was tapped to adapt Six Years for Paramount and the Mark Gordon Company.

Roberts was seen last year in the American adaptation of the Academy Award winning Argentinian film, Secret in Their Eyes. She can be seen in the upcoming Garry Marshall comedy Mother’s Day as well as the Jodie Foster-directed Money Monster opposite George Clooney. As The Tracking Board exclusively reported last week, Roberts is also set to star in and produce the adaptation of Melanie Gideon’s Wife 22.
