Julian McMahon and Daisy Betts have signed on to SyFy’s six-hour miniseries CHILDHOOD’S END. Based on the Arthur C. Clarke novel, the series follows the peaceful alien invasion of Earth by the mysterious Overlords, whose arrival heralds decades of apparent utopia under indirect alien rule, but at the cost of human identity and culture. McMahon is set to play Rupert Boyce, an entrepreneur, while Betts will portray Ellie, the female lead, who is engaged to the most powerful human in the world, Ricky Stormgren, to be played by Mike Vogel.
McMahan is best known for his role on FX’s Nip/Tuck. He was most recently seen in the drama You’re Not You, starring Hilary Swank and Emmy Rossum, about a classical pianist who has been diagnosed with ALS and the brash college student who becomes her caregiver. He is repped by Paradigm and The Schiff Company.
Betts starred on the ABC drama Last Resort with Andre Braugher and Scott Speedman. She was recently featured in a recurring role on NBC’s firefighter drama Chicago Fire. She is repped by ICM and Greenlight Management and Production.
