Julianne Moore is eyeing a ‘bad’ role in KINGSMAN 2, Matthew Vaughn‘s sequel to the movie adaption of Mark Millar‘s dapper action comic book series.
If Moore signs on, she will join Taron Egerton, who will reprise his role as Eggsy. Moore is no stranger to playing the villain, after her devious turn as President Coin in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 2. Specific details pertaining to the role in Kingsman have not been released.
The first installment of the franchise, also starred Colin Firth as a sophisticated James Bond-esque agent that took the delinquent Eggsy under his wing and turned him into a suave agent. Firth’s character died in the first movie, but there have been talks of him returning in some form.
Moore won an Oscar in 2015 for her turn as a woman coping with Alzheimer’s in Still Alice. She will next be seen in the Todd Haynes-directed Wonderstruck based on the book by Brian Selznick. She also recently signed on to star in George Clooney’s 1950s crime mystery, Suburbicon, alongside Matt Damon.
Moore is repped by CAA.
