Julianne Moore to star in “After the Wedding” Remake

Oscar-winner is set to star in the remake of Susanne Bier’s Danish drama .

Wolves helmer Bart Freundlich is set to write and direct the film that reimagines the two lead roles as women, creating a story of motherhood and family in New York.

Joel Michaels and Silvio Muraglia will produce through Paradox Studios, who is also financing. Cornerstone Films joins to handle international sales and distribution. CAA will oversee the US rights.

After the Wedding starred Mads Mikkelsen and Sidse Babett Knudsen and was a critical success and was nominated for best foreign-language Oscar in 2007.

Moore won an Oscar for best performance by an actress in a leading role for 2014’s Still Alice. She has also been nominated for her work in Far From Heaven, The Hours, The End of the Affair, and Boogie Nights. She was most recently seen in 2017’s Suburbicon and Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
