Juliette Lewis has landed a role in the live action adventure remake of JEM AND THE HOLOGRAMS. The story revolves around an orphaned teenage girl who becomes an online recording sensation. She and her friends embark on a music-driven scavenger hunt — one that sends them on an adventure across Los Angeles in an attempt to unlock a final message left by her father. Aubrey Peeples has been cast as Jem with Aurora Perrineau, Hayley Kiyoko, and Stefanie Scott joining as her bandmates.
While Lewis is an Oscar nominated actress (for her performance in “Cape Fear”), she is also known as the front woman for Juliette and the Licks, a rock band she formed before going solo in 2009. On the acting side of things, Lewis made a name for herself playing Danielle Bowden in Martin Scorsese’s “Cape Fear” before going on to roles in “What’s Eating Gilbert Grape,” “The Other Sister,” and “August: Osage County.” Her upcoming projects include an untitled documentary about her music career and thriller “Blood or Water.”
