The film will follow a 7-year-old girl and her group of friends during their adventurous summer break. While they are living out the wonder and fun of childhood, their parents are struggling with their own hard times.
Baker write the screenplay with Chris Bergoch. The two collaborated on the critically acclaimed Tangerine, which was shot entirely on an iPhone. The Florida Project will be shot in 35mm and is slated to begin production this summer.
Baker and Bergoch will also produce under CRE Films alongside Andrew Duncan and Alex Saks of June Pictures. Shih-Ching Tsou and Kevin Chinoy & Francesca Silvestri of Freestyle Picture Company will produce as well. Darren Dean will serve as executive producer.
