Emily Carmichael’s EON has attached Colin Trevorrow to produce alongside Adam Spielberger and Krista Parris, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned. The addition continues a growing working relationship between Trevorrow and Carmichael after the Jurassic World helmer recommended Carmichael to Steven Spielberg to write and direct Powerhouse.
Eon follows a thief-for-hire who is sent on an assignment to steal an unknown package from a laboratory, only to have a crisis of conscience when he discovers upon arrival that the package is actually a superhuman little girl. A character in the film, Stryka, was the title role in a short film written and directed by Carmichael.
Spielberg and Parris are producing after having previously produced the short film Stryka with Carmichael.
Since winning raves for the indie film Safety Not Guaranteed, Trevorrow’s star has quickly risen as a director. He reignited the Jurassic feature series when he wrote and directed last year’s Jurassic World, and has since signed on for the franchise’s sequel and Star Wars: Episode IX. He also teamed up with Spielberg to produce and create the story for Powerhouse.
Carmichael co-wrote Pacific Rim: Maelstrom with The 100‘s Kira Snyder which is filming with Steven DeKnight directing and John Boyega starring. She is also set to direct Lumberjanes for Fox based on the Boom! Studios comic.
