Hold on to your butts: Jurassic World 2 will hit theaters on Friday, June 22nd 2018.
Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard are confirmed to star in what will be the fifth installment of the blockbuster franchise, with World director Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly penning the script. Steven Spielberg will return as executive producer, while Frank Marshall will serve as producer.
Trevorrow, who will also produce, is not expected to return as director, as he’s widely considered the front-runner for same job on Star Wars Episode IX. Read more on that story here.
Jurassic World has taken the global box office by storm, breaking records while it stomps past $1.5 billion faster than any other film in history. This week, it surpassed The Avengers to take the third all-time box office slot, while Universal Pictures broke yet another record by crossing $5 billion in box office receipts for the year faster than any studio in history.
So if Trevorrow is headed to a galaxy far, far away… who’s head to Isla Nublar? Let the speculation begin.
