Jussie Smollett, Amy Seimetz, Carmen Ejogo, and Callie Hernandez are the latest recruits for Ridley Scott’s ALIEN: COVENANT. The 20th Century Fox sci-fi pic is said to be the second installment of a prequel to the original Alien trilogy.
The four actors join the all-star cast of Katherine Waterston, Demian Bichir, Danny McBride, and Michael Fassbender, who will be reprising his role of the android, David seen in Prometheus. The film will follow the crew from the colony ship Covenant as they discover what they think is an uncharted paradise, but turns out to be a dangerous world in which David is the sole inhabitant.
Smollett is known for his role as Jamal Lyon on Fox’s wildly successful Empire with Terrence Howard and Taraji P. Henson. He is repped by CAA.
Seimetz starred in the sci-fi mind bender, Upstream Color in 2013. She joined Jena Malone and Riley Keough in Lovesong which bowed earlier this year at the Sundance Film Festival. She is also the co-creator, director and writer of The Girlfriend Experience on Starz which will premiere in April. She is repped WME.
Ejogo appeared in Selma opposite David Oyelowo as Coretta Scott King. Her other film credits include Alex Cross and The Purge: Anarchy. She can be seen next in the adaptation of J.K. Rowling’s Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them. She is repped Conway van Gelder Grant and ICM Partners.
Hernandez made her feature film debut in Machete Kills. She also appeared in the From Dusk Till Dawn TV series and can be seen next alongside Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone in La La Land later this year. She is repped by CAA.
