Justin Theroux is in talks to join the incredible cast set for THE GIRL ON THE TRAIN. The project hails from DreamWorks and is an adaptation of the hit book from Paula Hawkins. Theroux would be taking on the role that Captain America‘s Chris Evans was previously in talks for.
Theroux would join Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, and Edgar Ramirez, who just entered talks last week. Jared Leto is also in discussions.
The thriller follows an alcoholic woman going through a difficult time two years after her husband leaves her for another woman. While on a train ride she observes and envies a happy couple nearby. Days later, a news report declares the woman in the couple has gone missing and begins to worry that she may have had something to do with it.
Marc Platt is producing with Jared LeBoff and Celia Costas executive producing. Tate Taylor is directing, with Erin Cressida Wilson adapting the script.
Theroux currently stars on HBO’s The Leftovers. He is repped by CAA and Brillstein Entertainment.
