Rumors are flying that Karl Urban is being eyed to join DC Entertainment’s upcoming AQUAMAN adaptation in a supporting role or even as the main villain. Game of Thrones alum Jason Momoa has been cast as the titular Aquaman. Latino Review is also reporting that Noam Murro (300: Rise of an Empire) is in contention to direct the DC property, which is currently slated for a 2018 release.
Urban stars as Bones in the rebooted Star Trek series, the next installment of which is set for a 2016 release. Fellow castmate Simon Pegg (who plays Scotty), was just tapped to co-write the script for third installment (and the 13th film overall) of the franchise. Urban was last seen in The Loft, a thriller about five immature married guys who are unsatisfied with their gilded lives and decide to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city–a place where they can carry out hidden, childish affairs instead of being responsible adults. Urban also starred in the 2012 remake of the sci-fi action flick Dredd.
