Katherine Moennig will be playing hippie mother Hallelujah in LANE 1974. The film is based on Clane Hayward’s The Hypocrisy of Disco, about a 13-year-old who is forced to live by her mother’s ridiculous counterculture rules on a commune in Northern California. Jennessa West is producing the film and Mel Eslyn is executive producing.
Moennig, who is best known for her role on The L Word and her current supporting stint on Ray Donovan, seems to be the perfect choice in the eyes of director S.J. Chiro, “Working with her has been one of the great joys of my career. Kate is a sharp, incisive, and straightforward person, much like the woman she plays. She is able to bring incredible depth and humanity to a complicated role. I can’t wait for the world to see a very different side of Kate Moennig.”
Moennig is repped by Paradigm and Framework Entertainment.
