The remaining cast has been rounded out for Nicolas Winding Refn’s THE NEON DEMON. Keanu Reeves, Christina Hendricks, Jena Malone and Bella Heathcote have boarded the picture in unspecified roles, joining Abbey Lee and Elle Fanning.
The female-driven horror film, co-financed and co-distributed by Gaumont and Wild Bunch, has been described by Refn as “a horror film about vicious beauty.”
Refn penned the screenplay with Mary Laws. Production is expected to begin on March 30th in LA.
Reeves is currently on the rise following his career-invigorating turn in John Wick. He recently starred in Eli Roth’s Sundance outing Knock Knock. He’ll next appear in the drama Daughter of God, the sci-fi thriller Replicas, and the upcoming television series Rain.
Hendricks most recently appeared in God’s Pocket and Ryan Gosling’s directorial debut Lost River. She’ll next star in The Hurricanes, Dark Places, and The Bleeder. She’s currently starring on the final season of AMC’s hit series Mad Men.
Malone recently starred in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and Inherent Vice. She’ll next star in The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2, Angelica, Lovesong, and Lonely Hunter. She’s also rumored to appear in the upcoming Warner Bros superhero sequel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
Heathcote recently starred in Tim Burton’s Dark Shadows, opposite Johnny Depp. Up next, the budding actress will star in the Pride and Prejudice and Zombies adaptation and The Curse of Downers Grove.
