Comedian Ken Jeong is in final talks to join the CBS Films teen comedy THE DUFF. The story follows a 17-year-old girl who goes through the five stages of grief when she unwittingly discovers that she is the DUFF (Designated Ugly Fat Friend) of her group. Disney star Bella Thorne has been cast as teen mean girl Madison alongside “Arrested Development’s” Mae Whitman who will star as “The Duff” Bianca. Jeong will play one of Bianca’s teachers.
Jeong is known for his raunchier comedic roles in films like “Knocked Up,” “The Hangover,” and “Couples Retreat” but has also appeared in family friendly projects like “Despicable Me” and “Turbo.” He also stars in the recently cancelled NBC comedy “Community.” His next projects include two projects with Jamie Foxx – “All-Star Weekend” and “After Prom” which Jeong wrote and is directing.
