Ken Nolan has set up his spec script DEFECTION at 20th Century Fox. The thriller, based on the novel written by Robert Littell, centers on a U.S. programmer who defects to North Korea, forcing the CIA try to contain the damage. The project was originally set with Brad Pitt attached to both star and produce under his Plan B Entertainment banner. Hutch Parker of Hutch Parker Entertainment is attached to produce with Dan Wilson on board to executive produce.
Nolan is most well known for penning the script for Black Hawk Down, and has recently written the spec thriller Rockets’ Red Glare, about a Mexican cartel money man who turns himself over to the border guard for protection, which has been set up at Columbia Pictures. Nolan also penned the six-part TNT miniseries The Company, starring Alfred Molina and Michael Keaton.
