Kevin Bacon has signed on to star in BLACK MASS, the Whitey Bulger project from Warner Bros. Based on the real life of Bulger, the crime drama follows the FBI corruption and the savage New England mob scene. Johnny Depp is set to star as Bulger, while Dakota Johnson is on board to play his girlfriend and Benedict Cumberbatch has been cast as his brother, Bill Bulger. Bacon will be on the opposing side, however, portraying FBI Special Agent Charles McGuire and boss of FBI agent John Connolly, the man who allowed Bulger to evade the law for so long.
While Bacon has been in nearly everything, his most recent projects include “X-Men: First Class” and “R.I.P.D.” During his summer hiatus from his Fox show “The Following,” Bacon will squeeze in time for thriller “6 Miranda Drive” and indie thriller “Cop Car.”
