Kevin Bacon is attached to star in the TREMORS television series being developed by Universal Cable Productions and Jason Blum’s Blumhouse Productions. Bacon, who is expected to reprise his role from the 1990 cult classic, will also executive produce. Backstrom producer Andrew Miller will write the adaptation of the 1990 cult classic.
Bacon starred in the original Tremors as Valentine McKee, one of a group of townies who must defend themselves against giant underground worms that are trying to kill them one by one. The actor, who became a cultural icon after his appearances in 80s classics like Footloose and Animal House, recently wrapped on The Following, which was cancelled after three seasons. Bacon also appeared in the Johnny Depp gangster flick Black Mass.
The Tremors series has not landed on a network yet, though UCP insists that there are several interested parties.
