Kevin Costner Set To Star In NASA Drama “Hidden Figures” With Taraji P. Henson And Octavia Spencer



Kevin Costner has been tapped to play the head of the space program in Fox 2000‘s HIDDEN FIGURES. The Academy Award-winning actor will join his Black or White co-star Octavia Spencer and Taraji P. Henson.

Ted Melfi will direct screenwriter Allison Schroeder‘s adaptation of the Margot Lee Shetterly book, Hidden Figures: The Story of the African-American Women Who Helped Win the Space Race. Melfi will also serve as producer of the film alongside Chernin Entertainment and Donna Gigliotti‘s Levantine Films.

Henson will play Katherine Johnson, an African-American mathematician who was one of the people behind the momentous launch and safe return of astronaut John Glenn in 1962. Johnson, along with her colleagues, Dorothy Vaughn and Mary Jackson helped Glenn were part of history as they were part of the groundbreaking team that helped Glenn become the first American to orbit the Earth.

Costner was recently seen in the sports drama, McFarland, USA. He can be seen in Criminal alongside Tommy Lee Jones later this year.
