Kevin Dillon and DeRon Horton have landed the lead roles in DIRT, the new drama from director Alex Ranarivelo. ESX Entertainment’s Ali Afshar and Forest Lucas are producing the film with the latter financing.
The coming-of-age drama centers on Dez Truss, a 17-year-old who is caught boosting cars for an auto-theft ring and is given one last chance to set his life straight by a compassionate mentor. He introduces the kid to Rick Radden, a former race car-driver-turned team owner who agrees to house and supervise Dez for the summer in exchange for manual labor. Dez begins working for Rick’s professional but underperforming dirt-racing team, using the skills he honed while stealing cars. He becomes a vital member of the team but not before his past threatens the safety of Rick’s family and livelihood.
Dillon is best known for starring in HBO’s Entourage as Johnny Drama. He repped by Gersh and Gallant Management.
Horton is making his first starring role in Dirt. He is repped by ICM Partners and Gallant.
