Showtime has landed THE STUDIO, a music-themed office comedy from executive producers Kevin Hart and Tip “T.I.” Harris, who are expected the make occasional guest appearance on the show, the Tracking Board has confirmed.
Written by Aeysha Carr (The Carmichael Show) and produced by Lionsgate TV, The Studio will chronicle the everyday (and every night) antics that take place inside a music recording studio, where people work unusual hours in an unorthodox office environment.
Carr will executive produce alongside Hart and Harris, as well as Brian Sher and Dave Becky.
Hart and T.I. co-starred in Get Hard together, and T.I. also had a cameo in Hart’s franchise title Ride Along 2. Both have released multiple albums, and they even teamed for the song “Baller Alert.”
Hart is attached to star in Universal’s Night School and the studio’s remake of the 1988 comedy The Great Outdoors, while T.I. will next be seen in William H. Macy’s indie Krystal and he’ll soon begin filming Marvel’s sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp.
Showtime did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Deadline broke the news.
