Kevin McCormick, who stepped down from his post as President of Production at Warner Bros. Pictures back in December 2009, is poised to return to the studio as an executive, multiple sources have told the Tracking Board. An official announcement is expected before the end of the week.

Since January 2010, McCormick has operated Langley Park Productions, which produced Gangster Squad, The Lucky One and the Arthur remake. McCormick is also a producer on the Amazon Studios thriller Lost Girls starring Sarah Paulson.

Though it wasn’t immediately clear what McCormick’s new title will be, insiders say he’ll be reporting to Courtenay Valenti, so he’ll essentially be functioning as an EVP, though his title will likely be different.

Warner Bros. had been looking to bolster its executive ranks ever since Greg Silverman stepped down in December to become a producer. McCormick is a well-respected industry veteran who has worked alongside Warners brass for years, so the transition shouldn’t be too difficult for either side.

A representative for Warner Bros. had no comment, while McCormick did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
