Kim Basinger has signed on to join the Warner Bros. crime thriller THE NICE GUYS. Set in 1970s Los Angeles, the project centers on Russell Crowe and Ryan Gosling as a recovering alcoholic and a private investigator who are brought together by the suicide of a fading porn star. Together, they launch an investigation after the girl’s aunt swears she saw her niece after her “death” and find that the conspiracy is more far reaching than they expected. Basinger has been cast as the chief justice who is in cahoots with the criminals.
Basinger and Crowe worked together once before, starring in the 1997 crime drama L.A. Confidential. Since then, Basinger has starred in Curtis Hanson’s 8 Mile, crime thriller Cellular, and Peter Segal’s Grudge Match. Just this year, Basinger starred in dramas I Am Here and 4 Minute Mile alongside Analeigh Tipton and Cam Gigandet.
