Matthew Vaughn is currently circling to direct the upcoming FLASH GORDON film for Fox. The film is based on the comic book series created by Alex Raymond in 1934 that follows a polo player who is kidnapped and taken to space by Dr. Zarkov to the planet Mongo to defeat Ming the Merciless. The classic property was made into a popular serial series starring Buster Crabbe in the 1950’s, and was brought to the screen in 1980 starring Sam Jones.
Vaughn has successfully adapted a number of hit comic-book properties, including Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class and Kingsman: The Secret Service. He is set to direct the upcoming biopic Eddie The Eagle at Fox.
