Kristen Stewart is set to play iconic actress Jean Seberg in AGAINST ALL ENEMIES. The timely political thriller directed by Benedict Andrews tells the story inspired by true events about the Breathless actress who in the late 1960s was targeted by the illegal FBI surveillance program Cointelpro.
Jack O’Connell, Anthony Mackie, Margaret Qualey and Colm Meaney are also starring.
Mackie plays civil rights activist Hakim Jamal, who Seberg had political and romantic involvement with which caused her to become a target of the FBI. O’Connell plays the ambitious young FBI agent assigned to surveil her, only to find their fates dangerously interwoven.
Joe Shrapnel and Anna Waterhouse wrote the original script. The film is scheduled to start shooting this summer.
Fred Berger and Brian Kavanaugh-Jones of Automatic are producing alongside Kate Garwood, Stephen Hopkins, and Andrew Levitas of Metalwork Pictures.
Stewart is best known for her portrayal of Bella in the Twilight franchise. She most recently starred in Billy Lynn’s Halftime Walk, Personal Shopper, and Café Society. She can be seen next in Craig William Macneill’s crime drama Lizzie.
