Kyle MacLachlan Returns To “Twin Peaks”

is set to star on Showtime’s TWIN PEAKS revival. The limited series consists of nine episodes and will answer the abruptly-ended series’ questions. MacLachlan will once again star in the leading role of Agent Dale Cooper. The show’s original creators, David Lynch and Mark Frost, will return. The series will be set in the present day, more than two decades after the events in the first two seasons, and will premiere in 2016 to mark the 25th anniversary of when the series finished its broadcast on ABC. Lynch and Frost are writing and producing all nine episodes, with Lynch directing. This revival will continue the mythology and of the original series.

MacLachlan can recently been seen as Portland’s dysfunctional mayor on the sketch comedy series Portlandia. He’ll next lend his voice to Pixar’s animated comedy Inside Out.
