Kyra Sedgwick, Jeffrey Donovan Join Berk and Olsen’s Comedic Thriller “Villains”

A few weeks back, it was reported that It star Bill Skarsgard and It Follows star Maika Monroe would team for filmmaker  and ‘s thriller VILLAINS, which they would be directing from their own 2016 Black List screenplay. The two young stars would play amateur criminals who get more than they bargain for when they meet a couple homeowners with a disturbing secret.

Emmy-winning actor and from Burn Notice have just been cast as those homeowners, who will do anything to keep that secret.

Star Thrower’s Tim and Trevor White are producing along with Allan Mandelbaum and Garrick Dion for BRON subsidiary The Realm. BRON’s Aaron L. Gilbert,  Wealth Media’s Jason Cloth, Chadd Harbold, and Per Melita are exec. producers, while Endeavor Content will handle North American rights.

This sounds like an exceedingly interesting project that just gets better and better with the cast that Berk and Olsen are putting together. It will be interesting to see if BRON brings this to one of the fall festivals or sells it in advance to a distributor.

The star of the hit series The Closer, Sedgwick appeared in the 2016 coming-of-age film The Edge of Seventeen and the recent indie drama Submission. She’s also made a foray into directing with the Lifetime film Story of a Girl, for which she received a DGA nomination, as well as an episode of Grace and Frankie for Netflix. She is repped by  , , and .

Repped by  and , Donovan appears in the upcoming crime-thriller Sicario: Day of the Soldado and opposite Zac Efron and Lily Collins in Joe Berlinger’s Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile.
