Lady Gaga will appear at the 87th Academy Awards in a special tribute performance during the award ceremony.
“Lady Gaga is a once in a lifetime artist who’s musical evolution keeps growing. We are proud to have her perform on the Oscars for the very first time,” said show producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
Gaga, often considered an outrageous, defiant entertainer, has won six Grammy Awards since her debut in 2008. Most recently, she won Best Traditional Pop Vocal Alum at the 2015 Grammy Awards for “Cheek to Cheek,” her collaboration with the legendary Tony Bennett. To date, Gaga has sold a staggering 27 million albums and 130 million singles.
Outside of the music business, Gaga (aka Stefani Germanotta) made an appearance in Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
Gaga is repped by WME.
It was previously announced that Oscar-winner Jennifer Hudson will perform as well.
