Kelly Marie Tran has found her Star Wars: The Last Jedi follow-up and will star opposite Elizabeth Olsen on SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS, a new series for Facebook.
The 10-episode series is described as a dark comedy that explores the life of young widow Leigh Gibbs (Olsen) as she deals with the grief of losing her husband while reconnecting with relationships of her past.
Tran will play Jules, Olsen’s character’s younger sister, a former party girl who’s trying to maintain her sobriety.
Kit Steinkellner created Sorry for Your Loss and will serve as executive producer alongside showrunner Lizzy Weiss. James Ponsoldt will direct the pilot and also serve as an EP.
Olsen will also executive produce, along with Robin Schwartz, Marc Turtletaub and Peter Saraf of Big Beach TV; and Cynthia Pett, Brad Petrigala, and Jon Liebman of Brillstein Entertainment Partners.
This marks Tran’s first booking since her breakout turn as Rose Tico in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a role she will surely reprise for the still untitled ninth Star Wars film. She is repped by CAA.
