Launch Pad Alum Santa Sierra Joins Writing Staff Of Hit Netflix Drama “Narcos” (EXCLUSIVE)

Alum and Mentor has joined the writing staff of the hit series  as the critically acclaimed crime drama heads into its highly anticipated second season.

An Alum since 2013, when her script Growing Up Morales landed her with Brandy Rivers at ICM and at Luber/Roklin, she immediately followed that up with an appearance on the 2013 Young & Hungry List. Since then, she has seen her feature spec In Search Of Our Father Sylvester Stallone set the town ablaze on it’s way to a top 15% in the Nicholl Fellowship and land her a writing assignment for Chico Grande for Amazon Studios. In 2015, Sierra served as a feature mentor for the inaugural Feature Mentorship Program, and is currently helping to steer the of Julie Pedersen, whose thriller The Interview was a finalist in the competition.

Narcos stars Wagner Moura as Pablo Escobar, the Columbian kingpin who headed up one of the most extensive and profitable cartels in history, and follows his rise to power and ultimate fall as told from the point of Escobar as well as U.S. DEA Agent Steve Murphy, who operate on opposite sides of what would become an all-out war. 

Created and produced by Chris Brancato, Carlo Bernard, and Doug Miro, the first season of the series was nominated for a WGA Award for Outstanding Writing in an Episodic , as well as two Golden Globes – one for Moura and one for Best Series – . Season two will be available to stream on Friday, September 2nd.
