After working together on the upcoming dramedy Last Flag Flying, Richard Linklater and are re-teaming on WHERE’D YOU GO BERNADETTE?, the Tracking Board has exclusively learned.

Cate Blanchett, Kristen Wiig, Billy Crudup and Judy Greer star in the adaptation of Maria Semple’s novel, which follows Bernadette Fox (Blanchett), an architect-turned-recluse who goes missing right before a family vacation, prompting her husband and teenage daughter to search for her.

Insiders tell the Tracking Board that Fishburne will play a man who Bernadette meets along her own journey and was a fan of her work back in the day.

Linklater wrote the script with Holly Gent Palmo and Vince Palmo. Megan Ellison is producing under her Annapurna Pictures banner along with Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson of Color Force.

Fishburne currently stars on the hit series Black-ish and will soon be seen alongside Bryan Cranston and Steve Carell in Last Flag Flying, which is a follow-up to the 1973 Jack Nicholson film The Last Detail. The Matrix star’s recent feature credits include John Wick: Chapter 2, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Passengers.

Meanwhile, it was reported earlier Thursday that Fishburne and Cinema Gypsy Productions have signed a new two-year overall deal at ABC Studios. Under terms of the deal, Fishburne and his longtime manager/producing partner Helen Sugland will continue to develop projects for the studio. The company already produces Black-ish and its upcoming spinoff College-ish.
