Demon-hunter John Constantine has really turned things around in his life on the small screen. The character, played by Matt Ryan, originated on television in the series Constantine from NBC that was quickly canceled and four years later that role is now set as a series regular on The CW’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW.
Ryan’s performance on NBC found a fervent fanbase which led to a guest-starring role first on Arrow and then on Legends opposite series regulars Sara Lance (Caity Lotz), Ray Palmer (Brandon Routh), Mick Rory (Dominic Purcell), Nathaniel Heywood (Nick Zano), Tala Ashe (Zari Adrianna Tomaz), and Amaya Jiwe (Maisie Richardson-Sellers). Ryan’s series regular promotion is contingent on the show nabbing a season four renewal, which is fully expected.
The spin-off of Arrow and The Flash centers on characters from both series who are recruited by Time Master Rip Hunter to save the universe from villains throughout history. Season three has focused on the team right the anachronisms throughout time that were created by their actions at the end of season two. Legends is produced by Warner Bros. TV, who also produced Constantine.
Ryan also voices the character of John Constantine in the cartoon series Constantine set to premiere March 24 on CW Seed and the animated film Justice League Dark. He previously starred in The Halcyon, Criminal Minds: Suspect Behavior, and The Tudors. He is represented by Gersh and Curtis Brown Group in the UK.
