CBS All Access has set the cast for its upcoming mystery series $1, with John Carroll Lynch, Nathaniel Martello-White, Philip Ettinger, Chris Denham, Kirrilee Berger and Gracie Lawrence with Leslie Odom Jr., Jeff Perry and Sturgill Simpson all set to star.
The show is described as a mystery set in a small rust belt town in post-recession America, where a one-dollar bill changing hands connects a group of characters involved in a shocking multiple murder. The path of the dollar bill and point of view in each episode paint a picture of a modern American town with deep class and cultural divides that spill out into the open as the town’s secrets get revealed.
Matt DeRoss of Anonymous Content, Alexandre Dauman, Rafael Yglesias and Jason Mosberg will serve as executive producers, with Craig Zobel directing all episodes and executive producing.
$1 joins Star Trek: Discovery and The Good Fight, along with the streaming network’s first comedy series, No Access, on CBS All Access. The network has also greenlighted a new version of Twilight Zone from Jordan Peele as well as dramas Strange Angel and Tell Me a Story.
Production on $1 begins this month.
