Liam Neeson has entered final talks to star in terrorist thriller A WILLING PATRIOT. In the pic, Neeson will play a C.I.A. agent who finds himself in an elaborate cat-and-mouse game with a dangerous terrorist who’s planning a devastating attack, forcing the agent to risk his life to stop the attack and exact a secret revenge, motivated by his mysterious past. Land of Mine helmer Martin Zandvliet will direct from a script by Jason Keller.
Keller will also produce along with Film 360’s Guymon Casady and Darin Friedman. Gianni Nunnari will produce through Hollywood Gang, while Marc Butan will produce through his shingle, MadRiver Pictures. Shannon Gaulding will oversee for Hollywood Gang. The project, though initially developed by the team for Warner Bros, was recently acquired by MadRiver.
Neeson has quickly transformed himself into one of this era’s biggest action stars, following his turn in the successful Taken series. The sixty-two year-old action star most recently appeared in Run All Night and Taken 3. Up next, he’ll star opposite Felicity Jones in the children’s fantasy When A Monster Calls. He’ll also appear in the raunchy comedy sequel Ted 2 and is currently in production on Martin Scorsese’s period drama Silence.
Neeson is repped by CAA.
