Mastermind of the Broadway juggernaut Hamilton, Lin-Manuel Miranda will take the stage again — but this time at studio 8H in 30 Rockefeller Plaza for SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE. Miranda is set to make his SNL debut as host on October 8.
Miranda will be joined by musical guest Twenty One Pilots, also in their SNL hosting debut. The news comes shortly after Margot Robbie was announced as the host with musical guest The Weekend for the premiere of the 42nd season on October 1.
The new season of SNL welcomes three new featured players including Alex Moffat, Melissa Villasenor and Mikey Day, who has been a writer on the show since 2013.
Miranda’s star continues to rise as he has been tapped to star in the upcoming sequel Mary Poppins Returns opposite Emily Blunt. He also composed music for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the upcoming Disney animated feature Moana, and is working on music for the live-action version of The Little Mermaid, which is currently in the works. Also in development is a big-screen adaptation of his debut musical In the Heights.
